Economic Empowerment Workshops

The Zahra Foundation supports women impacted by domestic abuse, providing:

  • education and empowerment programs.
  • specialist financial counselling.
  • brokerage and grants to women throughout Australia, promoting economic well-being and empowering participants to build pathways towards employment and education.

Through a collective impact model, key partnerships and technology, The Zahra Foundation is dedicated to creating an Australia where all women are economically empowered and safe.

Workshops

The Zahra Foundation hosts a range of empowering workshops for women impacted by domestic abuse.  These workshops offer access to information and the opportunity to build skills and independence. The workshops are centered around building financial and economic independence and wellbeing such as financial literacy, budgeting and resume writing. Workshops are facilitated by our trained and qualified team who are trauma and violence-informed.

We are thrilled to announce that in 2025, we will be offering a variety of workshops for people across Australia! Our workshops will be delivered in person at Mile End, South Australia, and will also be live-streamed for women and female-identifying individuals nationwide.

These workshops are tailored for those who have experienced gendered violence and are looking to achieve financial independence and economic empowerment. Our workshop series includes topics such as:

  • Resume Writing and Cover Letters

  • Financial Literacy and Budgeting

  • Digital Literacy and Technology Skills

  • Job Interview Skills and Mock Interviews

  • Superannuation and Retirement Planning

  • Navigating Family Trusts and Inheritance

  • Investing 101

  • Parenting Post-Separation

  • Legal Rights and Support Services

  • Healthy Relationships and Setting Boundaries

To express your interest, please contact us.  Once we have a minimum of 8 participants enrolled and will confirm the date, location, and time, and provide a virtual link for those who prefer to join online.

Our Pathways to Empowerment course offers four 9 week programs for women impacted by domestic abuse that allows you to connect with yourself and identify your goals within a safe and supportive space, surrounded by a non-judgemental community.

You will have the opportunity to build skills and confidence, learn about healthy relationships, communication, decision making for your future and discover pathways to education, training and employment, empowering you to build the life you want.

We offer a free, specialist Financial Counselling service for women impacted by domestic abuse related debt and financial hardship. 

Our specialist, trauma and violence informed Financial Counsellors are non-judgemental and supportive in their approach and empower you with skills, knowledge and choices to build the life you want.

All services are free and confidential


Any women, female identifying or non-binary person impacted by gendered violence
